The Community Youth Network: Corner Brook & Bay of Islands, YMCA Site Inc. was established in 2008. We are a non-profit organization whose mandate is to assist young people, between the ages of 12 and 18. Often the age group served is extended to people up to 29 years of age as CYN engages in prevention and intervention. We opened our Corner Brook Youth Centre in July 2010, and in February 2013 a Youth Centre in Cox’s Cove. We offer programs and services in the following areas:
- Learning opportunities
- Recreation
- Social nights, such as movie nights, which give youth a safe place to go.
- Educational programs, such as healthy living and suicide intervention
- Referral to government agencies that can assist students with any issues they are experiencing (income support, mental health, homelessness, addictions, violence)
